Mary T. (Ferrante) Mayo passed away at Lawrence Memorial Hospital on July 11th at the age of 86. Mary was born and raised in Everett, attended Everett Schools and has been a resident of Melrose the past 46 years. She worked as a seamstress for the Herman Geist Company in the garment district in Boston for many years. Presently Mary has been working for the Mystic Valley Elder Care Services serving meals to the Seniors at the Milano Center in Melrose the past 15 years. Mrs. Mayo was a former member of the Ladies Sodality at Immaculate Conception Church in Everett and a longtime member at St. Marys Church in Melrose.Mary was the wife of the late Dominic Mayo. Mother of Frank R. Mayo & his wife Diane of Stoneham, Donna T. MacDonald & her husband Gary of Saugus and the late Virginia Mayo & Marie Marchese. Grandmother of Francis Mayo, Jeanmarie Avola, Matthew Mayo, Michael MacDonald, Steven MacDonald, Francis Marchese and Christina Bricks. Also survived by 9 great grandchildren. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Thurs. July 15th at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 9AM. Relatives and friends invited.
