Mary G. (Veiga) Menni of Melrose, formerly of Malden & East Boston, died on Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Tufts Medical Center of Boston at the age of 78. Born on June 5, 1934 in East Boston, she was raised there and graduated from East Boston High School. Mrs. Menni enjoyed being a homemaker and worked at the Steaming Kettle Coffee Shop on Summer St. in Boston for many years, Spinelli's East Boston, Transitron of Melrose and the Bank of America in Malden for a few years. She was a member of St. Mary's Church of Revere and St. Mary's Church of Melrose. Mary enjoyed watching her grandchildren perform in all their shows, Bingo, growing vegetables in her garden, cooking and her pets. She was the devoted wife of the late George A. Menni with whom she shared 45 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Cynthia A. Caulfield & her husband Daniel of Melrose and the cherished grandmother of Brian & Kayla Caulfield of Melrose. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday, February 5th at 8AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 9AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours Monday from 4-8PM.
