Obituary

Mary (Dailey) Packard lost her battle with cancer at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington July 10th at the age of 64. Mary was born and raised in Cumberland MD, graduated from Fort Hill H.S. in Cumberland and Hood College in MD. She was a homemaker, has been livng in Melrose since 1963 and was a longtime member of the 1st Congregational Church in Melrose. Mary was a Bronze Life Master Bridge Player, an active board member at the Fitch Home in Melrose and a member of Bellevue Golf Club in Melrose. She was the beloved wife of George Q. Packard Jr. Loving mother of Lisa A. Dennesen & her husband Christopher of Beverly and the late George Q. Packard III. Devoted sister of Dorothy Lee McColley of FL and the late William & Richard Dailey. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at the 1st Congregational Church 121 W. Foster St. Melrose on Monday July 15th at 11AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours will be held at Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Sunday from 4-8 PM.
