Obituary

Mary P. Rogers died at Glenridge Nursing Home Jan. 7th at the age of 78. She was born and brought up in Somerville, Grad. from St. Clement HS in Somerville & Fisher Jr. College. Mary has lived in Melrose for 51yrs and summered at White Horse Beach in Plymouth for over 45yrs. She was the organist & music director at St. Mary's Church in Melrose for 25yrs retiring in 1995. Before St. Mary's Church she was the organist & music director at St. Raphael's Church in West Medford for 10yrs. She was a longtime member of The Polymnia Choral Society in Melrose and a she was a Trustee at Memorial Hall in Melrose in the 70's & 80's. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose. She was the wife of Leo E. Rogers. Mother of Leo E. Rogers Jr. of Wenham, Dennis M. Rogers & his wife JoAnne of Lynnfield, Gerald S. Rogers & his wife Maryann of Plymouth, Kenneth L. Rogers & his wife Mary of Stoneham, Elaine A. Lore & her husband Bruce of Rialto Ca, Christine M. Brand of Melrose, Neil P. Rogers & his wife Lori of Nashua NH and Richard J. Rogers & his wife Gail of Beverly. Sister of William J. Mooney of Duxbury, James P. Mooney of Melrose and the late Edward, Louise and Charles Mooney. Also survived by 10 Grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Thurs. Jan.11th at 9 AM. Funeral mass in St. Mary's Church Herbert St. Melrose at 10 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Wed. 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to Autism Society of NH 6 Terramar Ln. Nashua 03062. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose. Retired Organist & Music Director at St. Mary's Church.
