Mary "Serita" (LeBlanc) Pothier, of Melrose, died at the Bear Hill Nursing Center in Wakefield on Oct. 2, 2013 at the age of 101. Serita was born in Nova Scotia, raised in Cambridge and attended Cambridge Schools. She resided in Malden for 5 years and the past 70 years in Melrose. Serita was a member of the St. Mary's Ladies Sodality in Melrose and enjoyed square dancing, sewing crocheting. She loved to have fun and travel to Nova Scotia to see her relatives & friends. For Serita, family was the most important part of her life. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph D. Pothier for 34 years. Loving mother of Barbara A. Ameral & her husband Norman of NH, Janet M. Pothier & her husband William of Saugus, Joseph R. Pothier & his wife Theo of Merrimac, Linda M. Casey & her husband Daniel of Melrose and Elizabeth F. Barden & her husband Tony of CT. Cherished grandmother of 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and several nieces & nephews. Serita was the last of her 9 siblings. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Monday, Oct. 7th at 9AM, follow by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours on Sunday from 2-6PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Susan G.
