Mary A. (Maltese) Stirrat passed away suddenly at Massachusetts General Hospital, on February 23, 2008. She was 74 Years of age. Born in Everett to the late Bernardo & Maria (Accardi) Maltese. Maria was raised in Everett, graduated from Everett High School, lived most of her life in Everett and the last 8 years in Saugus. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister & aunt who loved being around her family. Mrs. Stirrat had worked at the Belmont Middle School Cafeteria in Saugus for the last 5 years. She enjoyed summering for the last 24 years in York, Maine, loved to cook and play the slots. Beloved wife of 50 years to Thomas M. Stirrat. Devoted mother of Kim Kerrigan & her husband Mark of Reading, Tom Stirrat Jr. & his wife Judy of Beverly, John Stirrat & his wife Debbie and Kelly Sanchez & her husband John all of Saugus. Loving grandmother of Patrick, Megan, Courtney, Amy, Kaleigh, Taylor and Jill. Loving sister of Salvatore Maltese of Everett, Josephine Montemagno of Yarmouthport, Angie Nicoli of Everett, Tina Surabian of Lexington and the late Ann Sciascia. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Thurs. Feb. 28th at 9:15AM. Funeral Mass in Blessed Sacrament Church, 16 Summer St. Saugus at 10:30AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Wed. 4-8PM.
