Mary V. (Champoux) Sullivan passed away at the Bear Hill Nursing Center in Wakefield, on February 16, 2011. She was 83 years of age. Mary was born in Tewksbury on July 26, 1927 to the late Gerald & Virginia (Coughlin) Champoux. Mary was raised in Somerville, graduated from Somerville High School; she was the oldest of 10 and helped raise her younger siblings. Mrs. Sullivan worked as an operator for N.E. Telephone for several years, in the housekeeping department for New England Memorial Hospital for 15 years and in the Bible Gift Shop in Malden. A resident of Melrose for over 50 years, she loved spending time with her family, enjoyed having cookouts in her backyard with her entire extended family and loved the times spent in Hampton Beach, NH. Mrs. Sullivan loved music, was a talented musician, could play several instruments and was a founding member of the Lord's gathering Church in Woburn. Mary was the devoted wife of the late Francis A. Sullivan. Loving mother of Francis S. Sullivan of Newington, NH, Cathy M. Eddy & her husband Michael of Reading, Stephen A. Sullivan of Woburn, David L. Sullivan & Beth A. Brannock both of Melrose. Cherished grandmother of Christopher Sullivan & his wife Jill, Eric Sullivan, Taylor & Michael Eddy, Kerry Yurewicz & her husband John, Danielle, Brittaney & Nicholas Brannock. Caring sister of Jacqueline Whiffen, Richard, John & Ronald Champoux & the late Gwen Segool, Ralph & Robert Champoux, Elaine Page & Lorraine Panis. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. A Going Home Service will be held in the Lord's Gathering Church, 39 Dragon Court, Woburn, on Monday, Feb. 21st at 10AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday from 3-7PM in the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. Interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
