Mary T. (Hunter) Johnson died after a long illness at Epoch Senior Healthcare Center in Melrose on March 3rd at the age of 91. Mary was born in Beverly, raised in Melrose, graduated from St. Mary's Grammar School and Melrose High School. She was a homemaker, a lifelong resident of Melrose, a longtime member of St. Mary's Church and former member of The Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Greenwood. Mary was also a member of the Melrose Senior Citizens Group here in town. She was the mother of Judith Scarinci of Amesbury, Carolyn Skaare of Melrose, Arthur Johnson of Amesbury and the late Joanne LeBlanc & Kathleen Johnson. Sister of the late Seymour 'Sonny' Hunter. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 2 nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Friday. March 7th at 8AM. Funeral mass in St. Mary's Church Herbert St. Melrose at 9AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8PM. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
