Mary passed away on December 2, 2022 surrounded by her dedicated husband and 6 children.

Mary was born in Boston but grew-up in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. The oldest of 13 children, Mary returned to Boston at the age of 19 years old where she worked at Liberty Mutual. Mary was always a hard worker and later would work at the Elmhurst Nursing Home and then many years at Melrose High School's cafeteria.

Mary was a very proud grandmother of her 17 grandchildren and their Families and especially proud of her 12 great-grand children. Family was very important to Mary and was evident in her interactions with her all her Family members. There are a lot of great memories from 35 Otis Street.

Mary was the beloved wife of 62 years of Harry Vieno of Melrose, loving Mother of John Vieno and his wife Barbara of Reading, Catherine Ginas and Raymond Nardone of Somerville, Marcy and (late) Dean Antonucci of Londonderry, N.H., Donna Morrill and husband Timothy of Randolph, Harry Vieno and wife Cynthia and Cindy Vieno and Michael Massi of Lynn.

Loving Grandmother of Jared Silva and wife Shennifer, Joshua Silva, Rafael Garcia, Sophia Ginas, Nicolle Antonucci, Joseph Antonucci, Corin Angelini and husband Scott, Michael Antonucci, A.J. Antonucci, Jacqueline Stevens and husband Bud, Catherine Morrill, Meghan Morrill, Timothy Morrill, Patrick Morrill,

Abigail Salvati and husband Christopher, Ashley Vieno and fiance Joshua Thibodeau and Gianna Vieno.

Loving great-grandmother of Jayln, Jacoby, Ava, Alivia, Anthony, Julianna, Rya, Remi, Gracie, Teddie, Maddie and Benjamin.

Mary is survived by 10 brothers and sisters, 2 deceased siblings, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster Street, Melrose on Friday, December 9, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Church, 9 Herbert Street, Melrose, on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 10:00AM. Burial is private.
