Michael G. Boyden, of Jericho, VT, formerly of Melrose, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his family on May 23rd at the age of 52. Michael was born on Sept. 1, 1955 in Everett, MA and raised in Melrose. Michael worked in the fire alarm and security system industry for the past 25 years. Over the past 10 years he has been working as a Regional Sales Manager for Silent Knight a division of Honeywell Fire Systems and Life Safety where he contracted national accounts to use Honeywell Fire Solutions. Michael attended elementary school at St Mary's School in Melrose and high school at Malden Catholic in Malden. He attended college at Lowell University now known as UMass Lowell. Michael was married to his childhood sweetheart Janet for almost 30 years. He was a loving and caring husband and dad. He devoted his life to his three children and spent much of his time with his family supporting all his children's activities and attending his daughter's soccer's games. In his spare time he enjoyed life to the fullest especially warm sunny summer days by his pool and at Hampton Beach with his family and friends. Michael was the beloved husband of Janet A. (Kelley) Boyden. Devoted son of Mary E. (Maloney) Boyden & the late William B. Boyden Jr. Loving father of Michael, Stephen & Kelley Boyden of Jericho, VT. Caring brother of William B. Boyden III & his wife Susan of NC and brother & best friend James C. Boyden & his wife Laura of Melrose. Son in law of Margaret Kelley. Brother in law of Robert Kelley & his wife Linda of FL and Eileen Paquin & her husband William of Dracut. Special uncle of William Paquin of Dracut. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday May 30th at 10:30AM. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church Herbert St., Melrose at 11:30AM. Relatives & friends invited. There is no visiting hours. Burial will be private. Arrangements by the Gately Funeral Home, Melrose.
