Obituary

Michael "Miceal O'Bogaig" Buggy, aged 93, of Limerick, Ireland, and later a proud citizen of the United States, passed away peacefully on November 6th, surrounded by his family.

Born on November 18, 1930, on Clare Street in Limerick City, Ireland, Michael's life was marked by deep family ties, deep faith, a love for knowledge and a devotion to hard work.

Michael was the son of Daniel Buggy, from Tralee, Co. Kerry, and Margaret McMahon, from Limerick City. He grew up alongside his older sister Maura (deceased) and younger sisters, Sara (deceased) and Martha (deceased). Michael's rich childhood memories were filled with trips to the Irish countryside, family gatherings, and carefree games with friends. As he often said, "I would not trade my youth in Limerick for anything."

Michael served with the Irish Civilian Forces, the UK Merchant Marines, and proudly in the United States Army. He brought his pioneering spirit into everything he did, from computer programming to developing a patented electromagnetic clutch device in the industrial sector.

At age 33, he met the love of his life, Roberta. Together, they raised seven children and embraced the blessings of a growing family that included 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Known for his stories, warmth, quick wit, and wisdom, Michael often reflected on life with a humble heart, reminding his family of "the dignity in every man" and encouraging them to always "be their own self."

Michael's life, rich with memories and accomplishments, will be cherished by all who knew him. His legacy of resilience, kindness, and humor will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife Roberta (Williamson) Buggy, his children Francis Corvino and wife Carol, of Gloucester, Kathy (Corvino) Kersey and husband Jim of Murrieta, CA, Daniel and wife Terry of Andover, Michael and wife Barbara of Melrose, Timothy and wife Anna of North Kingstown, RI, Kirk of Orleans, Jason and partner Maria de Vries of Melrose, as well as 13 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, who will carry forth his love for family, heritage, and adventure.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Michael's honor to your local humane society, reflecting his deep love for animals, especially dogs.
