Michael J. Gagnon, of Wakefield, died at Tufts Medical Center in Boston on Aug. 10, 2016 at the age of 57. Michael was born in Melrose, raised in Wakefield and a graduate of the Northeast Regional Vocational School in Wakefield, Class of 1976. He was a dedicated worker and was employed as a Carpenter for the Carpenters Union Local 33 for over 20 years. Mike was a lifelong Wakefield resident who was very social and well-liked by all. Michael loved fishing, camping and spending time in York, Maine. He was the loving son of Doris L. (D'Entremont) & the late Norman J. Gagnon of Wakefield. Caring brother of Norman J. Gagnon & his wife Jane of Stoneham and the late Peter J. & Stephen J. Gagnon. Devoted father of David R. Gagnon of Wakefield. Former husband of Emily Bumstead Gagnon of Wakefield. Caring uncle of Sara (Gagnon) Cline, Susie Gagnon, Ginny Cummings, Tom Jordan and Adam & Rachel Chanley. Also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Sunday, Aug. 14th from 2-6PM. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home on Mon. Aug 15th at 10AM.
