Michael J. Lucey, of Malden, formerly of Melrose, died at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on Dec. 20, 2013 at the age of 67. Michael was born in Malden, raised in Melrose and a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1966. He worked as an Ironworker for the Local #7 for 37 years before his retirement and resided in Malden. Michael was a member of the Malden Irish American for many years, St. Mary's Church in Melrose and the Ironworkers Local #7 Retirees. He was the beloved husband of Maureen (Cargill) Lucey for 43 years. Caring son of the late Gerald & Rena(Adams) Lucey. Loving father of Kevin M. Lucey & his wife Caroline of Nahant, Thomas J. Lucey of Malden, Denise M. Heon of Braintree and Kerrianne E. Regan & her husband Frank of Medford. Cherished grandfather of Evan, Briana, Ethan, Trinity and Owen. Devoted twin brother of the late Gerald I. Lucey. Dear friend of Billy & Diane Wilkie of Billerica. Also survived by many brothers & sisters in law and many nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Thursday, Dec. 26th from 4-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose on Friday at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
