Michael A. McLaughlin passed away at home, on May 3, 2006, he was 55. Mike was the son of the late Peter & Florence (Hume) McLaughlin. He was born and raised in Malden, graduated from Malden High School, Class of 1968 and has been a resident of Melrose for the last 18 years. Mr. McLaughlin was a US Army Veteran, serving two tours in Vietnam. He worked for the MBTA for 28 years as a bus driver and then in the stock room, retiring in 2002. Most of his bus routes were in Boston and then in Malden and Everett the last several years of his career. Mike was a member of the Carmens Union Local #589, the Melrose Elks and the VFW Harold OYoung Post #2394 in Melrose. Mr. McLaughlin enjoyed fishing, was an avid Patriots fan and looked forward to his walks with his dog Murphy in the Fells Woods. He was the husband of Janice M. (Bennett) McLaughlin. Brother of Florence Champney & Peter McLaughlin both of NH and Steven McLaughlin of Amesbury. Son-in-law of Mary G. Bennett of NY. Uncle of Christine & Andrea and Michael & Matthew. Godfather of Brent & Bryan. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Saturday, May 6th, at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited.
