Michalene ''May'' (Poplawski) Daugsiewicz died after a brief illness at Mass. General Hospital in Boston July 3rd at the age of 91. May was born in Cambridge, raised in Somerville, lived all of her life in Somerville and summered in Falmouth for 25yrs. She was a homemaker, a former member of of St. Hedwig's Church in Cambridge, a member of the Polish American Veteran's Ladies Auxillary in Cambridge and presently a member of St. Joseph Church in Somerville. May was the wife of the late Michael J. Daugsiewicz. Mother of Patrisha Osborne & her husband George of NY, Paul M. Daugsiewicz & his wife Barbara of Somerville and Philip Daugsiewicz & his wife Christine of Melrose. Sister of Anthony Poplawski of N.Andover, John Poplawski of Stoneham and the late Joseph Poplawski and Stella Wilson. Grandmother of Bridget, Danielle and Alexandra. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Monday July 9th at 8:45 AM. Funeral mass in St. Joseph Church 264 Washington St. Somerville at 10 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Burial in Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.
