Mildred M. Green died after a short illness at home Jan 31st at the age of 85. She was born and brought up in Malden, Graduated from Malden High & Malden Hospital School of Nursing. Mildred served as a registered nurse in the US Army during WWII, after WWII she worked as a nurse for the VA at the VA Hospital in CT and at the VA Hospital in Wyoming. After her husband Francis died Mildred came back to Melrose area and worked as a registered nurse at Malden Hospital. She has lived in Melrose for over 25yrs and was a member of the Steele House Assoc. where she served as Past President, she was a member of AARP and a member of the Women's Memorial in Washington DC. She was the wife of the late Francis Green. Aunt of Helen M. Sullivan & her husband Thomas of N.Reading and Patricia DeVaux & her husband George of McLean VA. Also survived by many grand nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Friday Feb 2nd at 9:30 AM. Funeral mass in St. Mary's Church Herbert St. Melrose at 10 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours will be held prior to the funeral mass on Friday morning from 8:30-9:30 AM.Internment will be private. WWII Army Nurse Veteran.
