Mildred C. (Rogers) Griffin Lyons passed away on Friday, September 5, 2008, at her daughter's home in Reading after a long illness. She was 80 years of age. Mildred was born in Boston, raised in Everett and graduated from Everett High School, Class of 1946. Mrs. Lyons lived in Saugus for 42 years and Wakefield the last 25 years. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. Mildred enjoyed being a homemaker, painting and was a proud member of the Red Hat Society. She was the wife of Theodore F. Lyons and the late Charles T. Griffin. Mother of M. Carole Sinclair & her husband Don of Reading, Nancy J. Roberts & her husband Arthur & Daniel P. Griffin & his wife Ellen all of NH. Sister of Charles Rogers & his wife Ruth of Chelsea, Barbara Tierney & her husband James of Melrose, Doris Rogers of Andover, Frances Adamo & her husband Frank of Saugus and the late Thomasina Rogers and Ellen & John Bryson. Grandmother of Shawn, Nicole, Cheryl, Michelle, Kelly, Paul, Olivia & Harry. Great grandmother of Lauren & Addison. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends from the Tuesday Ruby Red Hatters. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Tuesday Sept. 9th, at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Monday from 4-8PM. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
