Mildred L. Phimister passed away at Epoch of Melrose on February 16, 2014. She was 96 years of age. Born in Cambridge on November 8, 1917 to the late Ernest & Catherine Gullage, she was raised in Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School. Mrs. Phimister was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting, loved to bake and go shopping. She was a resident of Somerville most of her life before moving to Wakefield in 1977. Mildred was the beloved wife of the late Daniel J. Phimister. Loving mother of Barbara E. Nelson & her husband William of Nashua, NH and Daniel J. Phimister Jr. and his faithful friend Piper of Wakefield. Cherished grandmother of Gayle Sweet & her husband George, Lynn Shea & her husband Daniel, Laurie Chisholm & her husband Bill and Joanne Nelson. Proud great grandmother of Catherine & Samantha Sweet, Paul Shea & his wife Julie, Laura Shea and her fiance Julia, William Shea and Bobby, Danielle & Brian Chisholm. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be private as well as the interment at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.
