Obituary

Monica M. (Halley) Geehan passed away at home, on Dec. 2nd , surrounded by her family, she was 84. Monica was born in Boston, raised in Revere and graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Revere. She was a homemaker, a resident of Melrose for the past 54 years and a longtime member of St. Marys Church. Monica enjoyed her vacations at Newfound Lake in NH, bowling, bingo and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the wife of the late John J. Geehan. Mother of Patrick J., Mary A. Wagner, Shelia M., Pauline M., Eileen A., Bridget M. Geehan all of Melrose, John J. Jr. & Margaret H. Geehan both of FL, Alice P. Hall of Dracut, James P. Geehan of VT, Monica Marcotte of NH and the late Kathleen M. Geehan. Sister of Sr. Dismas Halley SSJ of Framingham, John Halley & Florence LaFreniere both of Revere, James Halley of Lynn, Loretta Flahive of Peabody, Walter Halley of Stoneham, Douglas of Brockton, Paul of Dorchester, Doris Talios of MD and the late Herbert & Alexander Halley. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Tues. Dec. 7th at 8AM. Funeral mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 9AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Monday 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose. Memorial contributions may be made in Monicas memory to St. Marys Church, 46 Myrtle St. Melrose 02176 or the Sisters of St. Joseph, 85 Bethany Rd. Framingham 01702.
