Natalie G. (Grava) Rosenberg of Melrose died at the Newton Health Care & Rehab. Center in Newton on Saturday, December 16th, 2006 after a long illness. She would have celebrated her 92nd birthday on Christmas Day. Natalie was born in Stonington, Maine to the late Joseph & Vittoria (Broda) Grava & raised in Bradford, (Haverhill) MA. She graduated from Haverhill High School. Mrs. Rosenberg was a long-time member of the choir at Sacred Hearts Church in Bradford. After her marriage in 1941, she moved to Melrose and was a resident there for over 60 years. Natalie was the beloved wife of the late Hyman Rosie Rosenberg and the devoted mother of her three children. David Rosenberg, Jane Sowyrda & Arlene Zafiropoulo & her husband James of Melrose. She was the cherished grandmother of Kevin Sowyrda, Dawn Holdsworth, David Rosenberg, Gia Rosenberg, William Zafiropoulo & his wife Eve, Steven Zafiropoulo & his fiance Ana Moreno. She was also the proud great grandmother of Alyssa & Samuel Holdsworth. She leaves a son-in-law Walter Sowyrda & daughter-in-law Diane Gates. Natalie was pre-deceased by her siblings, Adele Stella, Velma Fegan & Walter Grava. She is also survived by several nieces & nephews. Natalie was a talented musician & appeared on WBZ Radio for many years as the Sunshine Morning Opener. She was a long time charter member of The Most Blessed Sacrament Church & The Womens Guild. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Sat., Dec. 23rd at 10AM in Most Blessed Sacrament Church 1155 Main St., Wakefield. Family & friends invited. Following the Mass, there will be an opportunity to meet with the family. There will be no other visiting hours & burial will be private.
