Neil Charles Cavanagh

October 22, 1966-August 19, 2023

Neil passed away unexpectedly from diabetic shock, on August 19, 2023 at the age of 56 in Port Richey, FL, and was formerly, formerly of Wakefield, MA.

Neil was born October 22, 1966 in Melrose, MA to Neil Cavanagh Sr., and the late Marcia (Toussaint) Sargent. He was raised in Wakefield, graduated from Wakefield High School, and was a resident for many years. He was a hard working gentleman, worked as a Lynnfield Police officer for several years before joining the Local 223 Boston Labor Union. He loved the outdoors, fishing and going to the gym. Neil also had a passion for cooking and "Eating", and could take down a plate of food like nobody's business. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones and all who knew him. Neil was a kind soul, caring and quiet, but one whose presence did not go unnoticed

Neil is survived by devoted wife Isaura. He was the beloved son Neil Smith of Wakefield, MA. Father Neil Cavanagh, Sr. and his wife Sandra of Holiday, FL. Step-father Gordon Sargent of Wakefield, MA. Loving sister Tina (Cavanagh) Hennessy and her husband James Hennessy of Wakefield. Caring nephew of Carol McCarthy and all his McCarthy cousins.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 1:00-4:00 at the Melrose Fish & Game Club at Mt. Hood Golf Course on the Melrose and Saugus line.
