Nelly E. Mazuela passed away surrounded by her family at home in Medford, on February 10, 2010. She was 85 years of age. Nelly was born in Chile, raised in Chile and moved to the United States in 1984. She lived in Melrose for a few years and the past 20 years in Medford. Nelly was a homemaker, a loving mother & grandmother who cherished the times spent with her family. She loved cooking, red wine, music, dancing the Tango and her grandchildren. Nelly was the wife of the late Pedro Martinez. Mother of Aida Zuniga & her husband Carlos, Miguel Martinez & his wife Marcela, Pedro Martinez, Roxanna Martinez & her husband Jose Luis Barria all of Medford, Nelly Hatfield & her husband Mark of Melrose and the late Ignacio E. Martinez. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Monday, Feb. 15th at 10:30AM. Funeral Mass in Nelly's honor at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 11AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the Mass on Monday morning from 9:00 10:30AM. Interment at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
