Nicholas P. Flynn died at Wingate at Reading Nursing Home on Friday Aug. 30th at the age of 81. He was born and raised in Melrose, graduated from St. Mary's Grammar School, Boston College High School Class of 1939 and Boston College Class of 1943. After graduating from Boston College Nicholas entered the US Navy serving as a Lieutenant for several years. He was involved in the Normandy Invasion, served in Africa and the South Pacific. Nicholas graduated from Harvard Law School after the WWII and worked as an attorney for the Harbridge House Inc. of Boston for over 35yrs. He worked as an expert in procuring government contracts for Harbridge House Inc. Nicholas was a lifelong resident of Melrose and was a member of the Mass. Bar Assoc. He was the husband of the late Evelyn R. (Donahue) Flynn. Father of Michael J. Flynn of Malden, Gregory Flynn of N. Reading, Shelia F. Latshaw of Boston and Peter N. Flynn of Woburn. Brother of John Flynn of NH and Kathleen Martin of Centerville. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Wed. Sept. 4th at 8 AM. Funeral mass in St. Mary's Church Herbert St. Melrose at 9 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose. WWII Navy Veteran.
