Nobuko Mammoto Bachner, of Melrose, MA, passed away suddenly on January 8th, at the age of 48. Nobuko was the beloved wife of Brandon Bachner and mother to two most amazing creations - Koji and Yumi. Nobuko was born in Hiroshima, Japan in 1973. She came to the US in 2000 to study English as a Second Language. She started as a Low-Intermediate and finished graduating with honors from UMASS Boston.
Nobuko and Brandon married in 2005. They met on a Take Off Tours' trip - a company that they would run together for 15 years. Nobuko was smart, beautiful, funny, generous and a marvelous chef- creating delicious meals in both Japanese and American styles. We often mused about the fact that the Boston sports teams didn't start winning championships until Nobuko arrived in town. However, Nobuko's crowning achievement is Koji and Yumi who embody their mother's gift of emanating love and kindness to others in their midst. Nobuko will forever be missed and is surely smiling upon us.
Nobuko was the daughter of Yoshinori Manmoto, and daughter-in-law of Andrea Bachner, Irving & Barbara Bachner. Wife of Brandon Bachner of Melrose, MA. Mother of Koji and Yumi Bachner. Sister of Atsuko & Hirohide Kofuji, Masanobu & Kyoko Manmoto, Melissa & David Bleckner, and Randall Bachner. Aunt of Taisei, Kiryu, Kimika Kofuji, Satsuki, Yoh, Kousei Manmoto, Zach, Angelica, Jonah, and Isabelle Bleckner.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Spring.
