Obituary

Noel Arthur Svendsen died suddenly in a car accident in NH on July 20, 2006, he was 77. Mr. Svendsen was born and raised in North Attleboro, graduated from N. Attleboro High and Northeastern University with an engineering degree. He was a US Army Korean War veteran, serving most of his career in Germany on the Army Ski Team. He worked as a Registered Professional Engineer for the Arthur D. Little Company of Cambridge for 18 years, as a chief engineer for the Laitram Company of New Orleans for several years and then as a general manager at Digicourse of Marblehead for several years. Noel lived in Bedford for many years, Littleton the past 20 years and has summered in East Lempster NH for over 50 years. Mr. Svendsen continued his love for skiing through out his life, as a member of the Mt. Sunapee Ski Patrol for over 15 years and continued to ski until a few years ago. Noel was active in the North Attleboro High School Alumni and was a former councilor at the YMCA Camp of Maine. Father of Ingrid Thorn of Denmark, Kurt P. Svendsen of W. Hartford, CT, Natalie Wicks & her husband Daniel of Bedford and Dana N. Svendsen & his wife Holly of Methuen. Longtime companion of Margaret Nangle of Leominster. Brother of Fred Svendsen & his wife Corrine of Brewster. Former husband of Janice E. (Bennett) Svendsen of Bedford. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews. A funeral service will be held at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, 100 Pine Hill Rd. Bedford, on Saturday, July 29th at 2PM. Relatives & friends invited. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to YMCA Camp of Maine, 305 Winthrop Center Rd., Winthrop, ME 04364
