Obituary

Nora Lynn (Merrill) (Gray) (Fennelly) passed away at Beth Israel Hospital on 6/27/2014 at the age of 61, from complications of Diabetes. Nora was predeceased by her Mother Alice (Ward) Merrill, Father Raymond Merrill and Sister Jan Merrill-Bentley Nora is survived by Her loving Son, James Gray and his wife Bridget Gray, Grandchildren Jeffrey Gray and Ashley Gray, all of Derry NH, her Sisters: Rose Connors and her husband Richard of Melrose, MA, Nancy MacLeod and her husband Andrew of Lake Havasu, AZ, Judith Merrill of Tacoma, WA, her Brothers: Peter Merrill and his wife Janet of Riverbank, CA, Richard Merrill and his wife Laurie of Abington, MA, Christopher Merrill and his wife Linda of Holbrook, MA. She is also survived by many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Aunts, Uncles and Friends. Nora was born in Melrose, MA and graduated from Melrose High School in 1970. She worked many years in the Communications Industry as an Executive Administrative assistant for Continental Cablevision. She was well respected in her career. She was very much loved and will truly be missed by all who met her. She was literally generous to a fault. Nora received a kidney transplant in 2006 and after which she even volunteered to do a 5 year Anti-Rejection medicine study that was done by Beth Israel Hospital Transplant center which resulted with the drug coming to market. She is a true fighter and fought Diabetes for well over 20 years. Nora enjoyed and loved very much spending time with her loving grandchildren. She loved going to the beach and casinos. She loved traveling, and had been to numerous locations all throughout the world. However one of her favorite things to do was her special "Sister Trips". At Nora's request there will be no wake or funeral. Graveside services will be open to Family and Friends on Saturday July 26, 2014 at 10:00am at Wyoming Cemetery, 205 Sylvan St., Melrose, MA. Directions for a memorial brunch for Nora will be distributed at the Services. Please contact any family member if you think you may attend the memorial brunch. Heaven needed a Hero and they got the best for the job in Nora. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Diabetes Association in her name/memorial/honor.
