Norma L. (Walkey) Donoghue of Melrose passed away at her home on Saturday morning, September 13, 2008. She was 87 years old. Born on July 7, 1921 to the late Thomas L. & Izzetta (Davies) Walkey, she was raised in Everett and an Everett High School graduate, class of 1938. Mrs. Donoghue worked in the office of Hood Milk in Chelsea for 10 years before her daughter was born and then was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, walking her dog "Dakota" and camping in Maine. She was the devoted wife of the late James J. Donoghue. Norma was the loving mother of Sharon L. Doyle & her husband Brian of Melrose. Cherished grandmother of Joshua D. Doyle, also of Melrose. Caring sister of Marilyn Perkins of Everett & Evelyn Melvin & her husband Robert, also of Everett. Cousin of Thomas Perkins of Arkansas, Lynn-Leslie Pasarella of Bradford NH, Sandra Melvin of Norfolk, MA & Lorene Melvin of Arlington. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and 2 grandnephews, Robert Donati & his wife Angelique of Dexter, Maine & Jonathan Pasarella of Derry, NH. Visitation will be in the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday, September 17th from 5-8PM. Family & friends respectfully invited. Services & burial will be private.
