Norman W. Borenstein died at the Brighten of Medford Nursing Home, on June 29, 2009, at the age of 81. Norman was born in Chelsea to the late David & Evelyn (Murdock) Borenstein. He was raised in Everett & Melrose and was a graduate of Melrose High School. Norman served in the US Marines during the Korean War. He lived most of his life in Melrose and Stoneham for over 10 years. Mr. Bornestein owned and operated Capitol Truck Leasing in Everett for over 70 years. Family always came first with Norman and he enjoyed spending time with his 3 grandchildren. Mr. Borenstein did volunteer work throughout the Melrose community, was very supportive of the Boy Scouts and very generous to Melrose Youth Hockey. He enjoyed snowmobiling and taking trips in his Winnebago. Norman was the beloved husband of the late Jeanne A. (Perodeau) Borenstein. Loving father of James A. Borenstein & his wife Kathleen of Melrose and the late William N. Borenstein. Cherished grandfather of Audrey, Elise and Jonathan Borenstein. Brother of Donald Borenstein of Lynnfield & the late Edward Borenstein. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Thursday, July 2nd at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
