Norman A. Neale, of Malden, died at his home surrounded by family on June 1, 2011 at the age of 81. Norman was born in Everett, raised in Malden & Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1949. He resided in Malden for most of his life and worked as a Supervisor for Allied Container in Dedham for 39 years before retiring at the age of 57. Norman was a member of the Wyoming Masonic Lodge A.F. & A. M. in Melrose for many years & was an avid Boston sports fan. On Saturday nights, Norman & his wife Jean volunteered at the Ballroom Dances at both the Immaculate Conception Church & the Jackson Suite in Malden for the benefit of the Malden Emergency Center for over 40 years. During the 1970's & 1980's, Norman was a CB enthusiast with a handle of "Super2". He enjoyed spending his summers at Beaver Lake in Derry, NH with all of his family. He was the beloved husband of 61 years to Jean (Fowler) Neale. Loving father of Allen Neale & his wife Elizabeth of Amesbury, Cheryl Preston of Malden, Bruce Neale & his wife Denise of Derry, NH and Dennis Neale & his wife Karen of Melrose. Cherished grandfather of 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Devoted nephew of Ruth Hussey of Chelsea. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster Melrose on Saturday, June 4th at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Friday from 4-8PM. Burial in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
