Pasquale J. "Pat" Emma, of Saugus, died at the E. N. Rogers Veteran's Hospital in Bedford on Aug. 31st at the age of 89. Pat was born in East Boston, raised in Saugus and graduate of Boston Vocational School. After high school, Pat served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII aboard the naval ship LST #993. After returning from the war, he worked as an auto body repairman for many years before his retirement. Pat was a lifelong Saugus resident and enjoyed spending his time at the Wonderland Dog Track in Revere, Foxwoods and playing bingo. He was a member of the V.F.W. & Knights of Columbus, both in Saugus for many years. Pat's family was the most important part of his life and he loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was the beloved husband of the late Alice M. (Beck) Emma for 54 years. Loving father of Frank Emma & his wife Donna of Beverly, Catherine Mitchell of Salem, Donna Rose & her husband Mike of Manchester, NH, Joseph Emma of Saugus, Salvatore Emma & his wife Deanna of Taunton and the late Patricia Stephanides. Cherished grandfather of Crystal, Angie, Ashley, Jillian, Jessica, Michael, Melissa, Mikaya, Isaiah, Lisa, Teddy, Alison, Costa, Troy, Trevor and Taylor. Devoted great grandfather of Alexis, Evan & Norah Mae. Caring brother of Phyllis O' Hearn, Tessie Woodward, Doloris, Joanne and the late Mildred & Billy. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Saturday, Sept. 6th from 8:30-9:45AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret's Church, 431 Lincoln Ave., Saugus at 10:30AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial with full military honors in Riverside Cemetery, Saugus.
