Pasquale J. "Pat" Giordano passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Monday, December 2, 2013. He was 80 years of age. Pat was born in Medford on June 28, 1933 to the late Joseph & Bettina (DiGirolamo) Giordano. He was raised in Medford, graduated from St. Clement High School and attended Boston College. Mr. Giordano served his country with pride during the Korean War in the US Coast Guard. Pat moved to Melrose in 1961 and has been a longtime resident before moving to Stoneham 7 years ago. Pasquale worked as an auditor for the State of Massachusetts for 25 years in the Bureau of Special Investigations. After his retirement he continued to stay active working in the security department and in the mailroom for the Lotus Company and part-time at Gaffey Funeral Home in Medford. Mr. Giordano loved to garden, flowers, woodworking, hook rugs, made glass candles and enjoyed playing solitaire on the computer. He was a member of the VFW Harold O'Young Post #2394, the Melrose AM Vets and the Wakefield Elks. Pat was the beloved husband of 57 years to Jane A. (Scott) Giordano. Loving father of Joseph S. Giordano & his wife Diane of Marlboro and James E. Giordano of Lyndeborough, NH. Cherished grandfather of Rachael Oliari, Jonathan Giordano & Christopher Giordano. Devoted brother of Joseph Giordano & his wife Valerie of Bradford as well as other deceased siblings. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Friday Dec. 6th from 8:30-9:30AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham, at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Pat's name to the Jimmy Fund, 44 Binney St. Boston, MA 02115. Interment will be private.
