PATRICIA MARY ((Lynch) Browne, Age 95, of Melrose, formerly of Cambridge, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2019. Devoted daughter of the late William J. and Bernadette A. (Brennan) Lynch. Cherished mother of Kathleen Walsh and her husband Stephen of Topsfield, Patricia Kramer and her husband Kenneth of Sanford, ME, Charlene Walsh and her husband Dennis of Middleton, James Browne and his late wife Marcia of Wakefield, Jeanne Connolly and her husband Edward of Charlestown, Stephen Browne and his wife Elizabeth of Georgetown, and the late Maureen Glennon and her late husband John. Proud grandmother and great grandmother to sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Loving sister of the late Geraldine MacCausland. Also survived by members of her extended family and her many, many friends. Pat was born in Boston and was raised in Cambridge. She was a graduate of St. Paul's School and attended high school at Cambridge Latin. She was actively involved in her church activities from an early age. She had fond memories of skating on the Charles River with her father as a young girl. After high school, she worked in the payroll department at Mass Motors in Boston before marrying the love of her life, James Browne of Arlington. Pat and Jim were married at St. Paul's Church in Cambridge, on September 14, 1947. They shared seventy wonderful years of marriage and were blessed with seven children, sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Pat was integrally involved in all aspects of her children and grandchildren's lives, never missing any of their important events or activities. She was devoted to each one of them and loved them all dearly. She was a comforter and caretaker to all around her, and unselfishly gave of herself to all those in need her entire life. Pat had many life long friendships and made many new friends the past few years after moving to the Arbors in Stoneham. Pat enjoyed many years of spending time on the Cape with her husband, family and close friends. She also enjoyed travelling across the country with her husband and their many trips to Ireland to visit family. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W.
