Patricia Louise (Pinkney) Buchan passed away at Bear Hill Nursing Center in Stoneham on January 25, 2015. She was 83 years of age. Patricia was born in Melrose on February 23, 1931 to the late Gilbert & Ada (Doucette) Pinkney. She was raised in Melrose, went to St. Mary's School and has been a lifelong resident. Mrs. Buchan worked for 15 years at the Middlesex Fells Nursing Home in Melrose. She loved to crochet and make afghans and blankets for her family members. Patricia was famous for her gingerbread houses, her baked cookies and homemade whoopee pies. She loved the holidays and enjoyed going to visit her brothers and their families in New Hampshire. Mrs. Buchan was the beloved wife of the late Andrew Buchan. Loving mother of Adrienne Hefler & her husband Les and Jimmy Buchan all of Melrose. Sister of Robert Pinkney of NH, and the late Gilbert Pinkney, Regina Robinson, Bertha Bagarella, Barbara Carlucci and Dorothy Johnson. Grandmother of Patrick Hefler & his wife Amber Otto of CA and Jeffery Hefler & his girlfriend Nicole McCann of TX. Great Grandmother of Henry & Erik Hefler. Also survived by multiple beloved nieces, nephews & friends. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Saturday, January 31st from 10AM -12 Noon, with a funeral service at noontime. Burial will follow at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
