Obituary

Patricia A. (Convery) Byrne, of Melrose, passed away at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on Sunday, October 14, 2007, at the age of 77. Born on September 12, 1930 in Malden, MA to the late Edward & Margaret (Jenks) Convery, she was raised in Malden and graduated from Malden High School, class of 1947. Pat worked at Malden City Hall for 4 years as a stenographer and statistician before her marriage to Joseph M. Byrne. During their 56 years together, she was a wonderful mother and homemaker. Mrs. Byrne loved to take trips to the mall and the Franciscan Chapel in Peabody, watch Classical Movies & Jeopardy, the Patriots & Red Sox, scratch tickets, cribbage, visits from her family and special times during the holidays such as Thanksgiving & Christmas. She was loved very much by all who knew her and especially enjoyed her neighbors from West Highland Ave. Patricia was the devoted wife of Joseph M. Byrne. A loving mother to J. Michael Byrne of Revere, Juliana M. Lemp of Newbury, Maria Hutchings & her husband Brad of Stratham, NH, Patrice Wharem & her husband Dave Dutil also of Stratham, NH, Timothy G. Byrne of Derry, NH & Vincent R. Byrne & his wife Joanne of Saugus. Cherished grandmother of Chris, Jamie, Meghan, Caite, Craig, Joe, Diana, Vanessa & Brittany. Great grandmother of Madison Rose, Daniel Joseph, Jonah, Will, Adrienne & Owen. Caring sister of Barbara A. Carye & her husband Raymond of Boston & the late Helen Glennon, Catherine Racz, Alice Newell, Anna Mae Collins & Edward Convery, Jr. A funeral mass will be held in Most Blessed Sacrament Church 1155 Main St., Wakefield on Thurs. Oct. 18th at 10AM. Family & friends invited. Interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody, MA. Arrangements by The Gately Funeral Home of Melrose. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pats memory may be made to Hallmark Hospice 100 Hospital Rd., Malden, MA 02148. A remembrance & celebration of Pats life will be held for family & friends at the church hall following the burial.
