Patricia F. (Brady) MacKenzie passed away at her home in Melrose, on October 29, 2006, she was 72. Patricia was born in Boston, raised in the Back Bay until the age of 10 and moved to West Roxbury. She graduated from Practical Arts High School in Roxbury and then worked as a buyer for Conrads Department Store in Boston. Patricia has been a resident of Melrose for the past 40 years; she was a dedicated mother & wife and former Girl Scout & Boy Scout Troop Leader. After raising her family she returned to work at Garnisss Market in Melrose and then worked as a clerk & buyer at Rounds True Value Hardware in Stoneham for 12 years. Patricia & her husband Robert built a home in Newfound Lake, NH in 1972, where they enjoyed skiing and spending time with thier family. Mrs. MacKenzie was a world traveler, loved going out to eat and dancing. She was a longtime member of St. Marys Church, a member of the Kappa Swap Shop, a lover of animals and was a member of the Animal Relief Fund in Melrose. Patricia was known to take in many animals throughout her life, nurse them back to health and then find a good home for them. She was the wife of Robert E. MacKenzie. Mother of Holly MacKenzie of Tisbury & Jon MacKenzie of Melrose. Sister of the late Maree Cronin. Grandmother of Alison K. & Julia A. MacKenzie and Mary P. & Anne M. Ollen. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Friday, Nov. 3rd at 10:00AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 11:00AM. Relatives & friends invited.
