IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia "Tricia"
Mahon
May 10, 1952 – January 28, 2025
In loving memory of Tricia Mahon of Boston, MA.
Tricia Mahon was born in Melrose, MA, on May 10, 1952, the youngest to her brothers Michael and Eddie, and grew up in a loving home and in the schools and streets of Melrose as did so many children of the 50's.
None that ever met her would call her less than an extraordinary person as she grew up within a special family in a home that was the center for so many friends, relatives, and neighbors.
At Melrose High School she tested into the advanced class but refused it, only to prove herself wrong in later years by getting her Masters Degree in Nursing in one year instead of two at Boston College, and becoming one of the earliest Nurse Practitioners in history to staff the Emergency Room of hospitals on both coasts.
In order to get her Nursing degree in the first place, she hitchhiked across the country with her best friend and established residency in California
She returned to the east Coast to spend countless hours caring for her brother Michael, confined to a wheelchair from his early 20's on.
She ended her career in Primary Care at Massachusetts General Hospital, working alongside a doctor who was not only the Chief Medical Officer of the entire hospital and of the New England Patriots, but a Vice president there as well.
After two failed marriages she found a man to match her capacity for love and was proposed to with a bespoke ring in a gondola on the Grand Canal in Venice. She married that man in a pink Cadillac convertible with an Elvis lookalike in Las Vegas, smiling and laughing the whole time. That was Tricia.
She left this world at 2:15AM on January 28, 2025. She was predeceased by her brother Michael and her parents Edward and Alice Mahon, and is survived by her husband Perry Yeldham and older brother Eddie Mahon.
Tricia's ashes will be interred in the family burial plot at St Patrick's Cemetery in Stoneham, MA on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 10:00 AM. There will be a Celebration of Life held at the Boston Harbor Distillery, 12R Ericsson St., Dorchester, MA from 1:00PM-4:30PM on Sunday, February 9, 2025.
