Obituary

Patricia Ann Perry passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026 at age 81. Born in Ludlow, Massachusetts, to Wilfred Chenaille and Adella (Saj) Chenaille, Patricia graduated from Cathedral High School in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1963, then attended hairdressing school before working for New England Telephone during her early adult years.

Patricia built a distinguished career in the insurance industry, working for several agencies in Western Massachusetts before advancing to claims manager roles at multiple agencies in greater Boston. She moved to the Boston area after her daughter, Tiffany, enrolled at Boston University, wanting to be closer to her for those years and beyond.

Patricia loved hockey. She was a long-time member of the Springfield Indians booster club. She then became one of Boston University Hockey’s biggest supporters once Tiffany attended BU. She had season tickets for almost 30 years where she traveled to hundreds of road games, Beanpots, Hockey East Championships and Frozen Fours. She developed friendships with many fellow supporters and players' families while following the team at Walter Brown Arena and Agganis Arena. She was a beloved fixture in the BU Hockey community and a “mom” to the Dog Pound student sections, where she and Tiffany sat even after she graduated.

Patricia had a varied taste in music. She loved doo-wop and oldies, but her favorite artists included Lionel Richie, Air Supply, the Bee Gees and Johnny Mathis. She was also the consummate “concert mom”, driving Tiffany and her friends to many dozens of concerts - particularly New Kids on the Block shows in the 80’s and 90’s. Weekend getaways to Boston would also include stalking NKOTB outside their homes to catch a glimpse or meet them and their families as they were coming and going.

Patricia also loved to shop; TJ Maxx and Burlington were her favorite stores to get the latest new outfit, shoes, and matching statement necklaces or rings. She insisted on looking her elegant best for every occasion. She never left her apartment without doing her makeup, hair, nails, and getting dressed up even when running errands or grocery shopping.

Christmas was by far Patricia’s favorite holiday. She went out of her way to decorate her home every year with multiple trees, villages and santas, passing on the same passion to Tiffany. She loved watching Hallmark Christmas movies and listening to Christmas CD’s no matter the time of year on the calendar.

Patricia also had an affinity for visiting casinos. She made frequent trips to Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun, and Encore to try her luck at the slots. She could sit for hours at one machine, loving life on only $20. Tiffany and Han treated her to a week in Vegas for her 70th birthday, where they ate dinner every night overlooking the Strip, saw her favorite musical “Jersey Boys”, and played the slots until the wee hours of the morning. Patricia’s greatest accomplishment in life was being a devoted, loving mother. She had an incredible work ethic, working two jobs to help pay for college for Tiffany. Her life revolved around being Tiffany’s mother, later also showing that same love and commitment as a mother-in-law to Tiffany’s husband Han.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents Wilfred and Adella (Saj) Chenaille, her sister, Dorothy (Chenaille) Lobik, her brother-in-law, James Lobik and her beloved furbabies and grandfurbabies Tuxedo, April, Snowy, Cooper and Murphy. She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Tiffany Han, and son-in-law, Han Han; her niece, Lauren (Lobik) Josefek, husband Jeff and their daughter Lilly; her cousin, Gary Donahue, his wife Dori, their daughter, Alison (Donahue) Jenness, son-in-law Ben, and their children Sofie and Kane, and her grandfurbabies Parker and Quinn.

Visiting Hours will be held on Saturday, June 13th, 2026 from 9:30am - 11:00am at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, MA. A Memorial Service will be held inside the funeral home at 11:00am immediately following the visitation. A reception will be held immediately following services at Hannah’s Brewing Company 364 Main Street, Melrose, MA. All are welcome to attend.
