Patricia M. (Gillis) Pittella of Saugus, formerly of Melrose, died Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital. She was 70 years old. Born in Boston on July 15, 1940, a daughter to the late Francis & Catherine (Rooney) Gillis, she was raised in Jamaica Plain and a 1958 graduate of Cardinal Cushing High School in South Boston. Mrs. Pittella was a Melrose resident from 1959 to 1996 before moving to Saugus. She was a member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church of Wakefield and worked as a receptionist in Medford for 10 years. Pat enjoyed cooking, bowling, playing with her grandchildren, time with the family and entertaining. She was the devoted wife of Domenic G. Pittella of Saugus, with whom they shared 47 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Lisa M. Cormier & her husband James of Reading, Joseph F. Pittella & his wife Sherri-Ann of Bradford & Mark P. Pittella of Virginia. Cherished grandmother of Steven & Lauren Cormier, Christian Pittella & Maria & Victoria Pittella. Caring sister of Margaret Harrison & her husband Albert of Foxboro, Donald Gillis & his wife Marilyn of Weymouth, Mary Smith & her husband Nick of S. Carolina, Theresa Sheehan & her husband Dennis of W. Roxbury, Joseph Gillis & his wife Carol of Hanson, the late Raymond Gillis & his wife Barbara of Watertown & the late John Gillis. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Saturday, February 12th at 9AM.
