Patricia L. (Driscoll) Scarpa died suddenly at Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence, MA on Tuesday, January 13, 2009. She was 75 years of age. Born in Glendale, CA to the late Frank & Mary (Fallon) Driscoll, she was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School. Patty lived in Stoneham for over 25 years, Wakefield for 8, and for the past 4 in Andover. Mrs. Scarpa was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed raising her 6 children. She had an adventurous spirit, was an avid reader, and liked the ocean, sports, and music. She also enjoyed baking, playing cards with her grandchildren, and spending summers at Suncook Lake in Barnstead, NH for the past 56 years. Beloved wife of Domenic V. Scarpa. Loving mother of Andrea Nero & her husband John of RI, Diana J. Cacicio & her husband David of Stoneham, Frank L. Scarpa & his wife Kathy of Stoneham, Stephen Scarpa & his companion Suzanne of NH, Domenic V. Scarpa Jr. & his wife Jodi of NH, and Toni Ellegood & her husband Jeff of Tewksbury. Sister of Eileen Scott of FL, Jean Cain of PA, John Driscoll of NH, Betty Connolly, James Driscoll, Robert Driscoll, David Driscoll all of Melrose, and the late Catherine Bistany & Mary Sheehan. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, Jennifer, Kimberly, Amy, Angelique, Timothy, Sarah, Stephanie, Miranda, Kayla, Marcus, Maria, Kacie, Adam, and Grace, 3 great-grandchildren, Colby, Emerson, and John, as well as numerous nieces & nephews. Viewing to be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Fri. Jan. 16th from 4-8PM. Funeral on Sat. Jan. 17th from the Gately Funeral Home at 9AM. Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Interment in Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.
