Patricia "Pat" Vercellini, 83, of Saugus, Massachusetts, passed away on February 3, 2024, in Boston, MA.

She was born on October 15, 1940, to Gertrude "Gert" and Robert "Bob" Scully in Somerville, MA. She lived on Temple St. and went to the Glines School, before moving to Everett where she was raised. A devoted wife to Alfred S. Vercellini, Jr., they raised their three children in a house on Amaranth Avenue in Medford, MA.

Pat was the laundry queen- there wasn't a pair of pants she couldn't pleat, or a stain she couldn't get out. She loved playing cards and checkers, and any of her grandchildren will tell you that she'd call you out right away for cheating. Even when her grandkids were small she was a tough competitor, often beating them in a move or two, but would always show them where they'd gone wrong. (They never made the same mistake twice.)

Her happy place was the beach. She and her family spent many summers in a cottage at Hampton Beach, enjoying the sand on her toes and the sun on her face. She'd often spend a day at Revere beach, with a jelly donut from Dunkin' Donuts or a thinly sliced roast beef sandwich from Kelly's.

Pat's mashed potatoes were a family favorite, as was her baked macaroni, and roast beef with gravy. She hardly ever used a recipe; she'd use just a little bit of this and a little bit of that, and somehow it would come out perfect. You could often find her sitting at her kitchen table with a glass of Pepsi, and a bowl of Cheezits, watching Judge Judy. You'd walk in the room, she'd say, "Hey babydoll," and ask you about your day.

She was funny, she was tough, and she loved hard.

She is predeceased by her parents, Gertrude and Robert Scully, and her husband, Alfred S. Vercellini, Jr.

She is survived by her loving children: Nancy Servello and her fiancé Bill Francis of Acton, Laurie McCall and her husband Thomas of Melrose, and Paul Vercellini and his wife, Jennifer of Billerica. She was the best "Nana" to her eight grandchildren, Victoria Olson and her husband Matthew Olson Sr., Alyssa Servello and her partner Michael Moynihan, Devin McCall and her partner Matt Paris, Marc Vercellini and his partner Shannon Williams, Kaleigh McCall, Macy Vercellini and her partner David Taylor Flett III, Liam McCall, and Francesca Servello.

She was a proud great-grandmother to four great-grandchildren, Matthew Olson Jr., Lillian Olson, Hallie Grace Moynihan, and David Taylor Flett IV.

She is also survived by many loving siblings, nieces, and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, February 12th, 2024, at Gately Funeral Home, located at 79 West Foster Street, Melrose, MA, from 9:30-11:30AM, followed by a funeral service at the funeral home at 11:30AM. Interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, located at 230 Playstead Road Medford, MA.
