Patricia Ann “Patty” (Busby) Waters, 66, passed away on November 4, 2026, following a long battle with multiple sclerosis.

Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, on December 14, 1959, Patty was the daughter of the late George and Nancy (Kemp) Busby. She moved with her family to Melrose as a young child and attended Melrose High School.

Patty spent many years working as a baker at Foodmaster and also operated her own baking business. She worked for several years as a waitress at the General Glover House and Anthony’s Fine Restaurants. Active in her community, she served for several years as vice president of Swampscott’s youth football and cheerleading program.

Before her illness limited her activities, Patty enjoyed candlepin bowling and family gatherings. Above all, she loved her family and treasured every opportunity to spoil her grandchildren.

Patty is survived by her husband, Daniel Waters; her three daughters, Alicia Rowe and her husband, Steven, Heather McLaughlin and her husband, Matt, and Stephanie Waters; and her three cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Samantha, and Madison. She also leaves her sister, Donna (Busby) Connolly, and her husband, Tom; and her nephews, Tommy, Jeffrey, and Matthew Connolly.

A private graveside service will be held.
