Paul was a warm and caring man who was known for having a big personality. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son, and a loyal friend. He taught us to be helpful and generous. There was always room for one (or a dozen) more at his table. If you ever met him, even just once, you likely felt how special he was. He left us far too soon, and it’s hard to imagine this world without him in it. We will carry his stories, his laughter, and his love with us always.
Paul was the loving husband of Monica L DiLuca (Graziano), of Melrose, MA, caring father of Phillip H. DiLuca & his wife Kendra Raven, of Edgecomb, Maine, Juliana L. Dimore & her husband Jeff Dimore of Malden, MA, grandfather of Dominic Henry DiLuca, Aria Grace DiLuca & Beckett Dimore.
Paul was the loving son of Henry (Enrico) DiLuca, 1926-2002, of Waltham, MA. and Borrello, Italy, and Domenica DiLuca (Palmieri), of Waltham, MA. and Borrello, Italy.
Brother to Annmarie Carpinito & her husband Reggie Carpinito of Lexington, MA., Laura DiLuca-Koglin & her husband James Koglin of Newburyport, MA., Donna Pulselli & her husband Charlie Pulselli of Pembroke, MA. Brother-in-law of Barbara Graziano of Philadelphia, PA. and James J. Graziano, Jr & his wife Kathy Graziano of Havertown, PA.
Uncle to Dylan & Alessandra Carpinito, Tyler, Tatiana & Wesley Koglin, Marco, Jesse, Christian & Mia Pulselli, Natalie Criniti & her husband Vincenzo, James J Graziano, III & his wife Morgan in addition to 4 great nieces.
He was the nephew of John Palmieri, of Braintree, MA. In addition, Paul had 9 Palmieri cousins and had numerous Palmieri relatives locally and from Borrello Italy.
Paul was a graduate of Northeastern University class of 1976. He Retired in 2022 from the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority where he held the position of Manager for the Security, Safety and Emergency Preparedness Unit. Prior to that he held similar positions at W.R. Grace and Monsanto companies. Paul enjoyed fishing anywhere he could from Swains Pond in Melrose to deep sea fishing off the Captain’s Lady fishing fleet out of Newburyport. When he traveled for work Paul often packed a portable rod. Paul’s other great passion was being a backyard chicken farmer, taking great pride in his girls and the double yoked eggs they produced. He loved providing fresh eggs for family and friends. Paul was an avid reader, amassing well over 500 books in his home library. He enjoyed birdwatching from his backyard deck. In his youth, he was passionate about photography, always with his camera bag at his side.
