Paul E. Emery Jr. passed away suddenly at his home in North Carolina, on September 15, 2006, he was 53 years of age. Paul was born in Winchester, raised in Wakefield and graduated from Wakefield High School. After graduating from Wakefield High School he entered the US Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War. After his discharge from the Marines he lived in Melrose for 8 years, New Hampshire for several years and moved to Bear Creek, NC over 9 years ago. Paul was a disable Vietnam Veteran; he was a loving son, brother, uncle and stepson to Harold. He enjoyed boating, fishing, camping at Long Lake in Maine for many summers, baseball, the Red Sox and was a Dallas Cowboys fan. Mr. Emery enjoyed panning for gold in Maine with his stepfather Harold, horse racing and he loved his dog Jake. Paul was the devoted son of Harold & Ruth (Tansey) Smith of Wakefield & the late Paul E. Emery, Sr. Beloved brother of Susan J. (Emery) Farkas of Danvers, Ruthanne Smith-Datalo & her husband Kim of Wakefield, Janis M. (Smith) Iddings & her husband Matthew of Foxboro, & Robert A. Smith of Wakefield. Cherished uncle of Amanda J. Farkas-Boulet of Haverhill, Brian L. Farkas of Wilmington, Matthew & Alexandra Datalo of Wakefield, & Benjamin Iddings of Foxboro. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Sat. Sept. 23 at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Most Blessed Sacrament Church 1155 Main St. Wakefield at 10AM. Family & friends invited.
