Paul R. Grover passed away at Bear Hill Nursing Center in Stoneham on April 2, 2022. He was 80 years of age. Paul was born and raised in Melrose, was a member of the Melrose High School Class of 1960 and received his G.E.D. at the 55th Reunion in 2012. He was a lifelong resident of Melrose and worked in the highway division of the Melrose Public Works for 41 years, retiring as a working foreman.
Paul loved to ride his Harley Davidson, was a member of the Hog Association, the Harley Davidson Owners Group, and a member of the Romeo Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed riding with his buddies every Thursday morning for breakfast in New Hampshire and continuing for a ride in Maine. Paul lost his leg in a motorcycle accident several years ago, but that did not stop him from riding. He bought a Harley Davidson Trike so he could continue his passion for riding motorcycles.
He loved going to Booth Bay Harbor in Maine for lobster & steamers at the Lobster Connection and loved taking his grandchildren to Old Orchard Beach. Paul was a people person and could be found around town in the local banks and restaurants.
Paul married the love of his life Ann Marie (Poore) Grover in 1960. He was the beloved father of the late Paul R. Grover Jr., Cheryl Donovan & her significant other Stephen Frotten of North Chelmsford and the late Kenneth E. Grover & his wife Margaret Grover of Wakefield. Loving grandfather of Kenneth E. Grover Jr., Nichole Donovan, Katelyn Jones & her husband Andre, Lindsay Macasay & her husband Samuel, Zoe McMahon, Stephen McMahon & Emma McMahon. Great grandfather of Dominiq Doraiswami, Jayla Jones, Trevor Jones & Aria Donovan. Caring brother of Hal Tenberg of Reno, NV as well as 11 other deceased brothers and sisters. Cherished uncle of David & Sheila Farry & Family as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 4:00-7:00PM. Followed by a funeral service on Friday, April 8th at 11:00AM with a burial at Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.
