Paul B. Higgins, of Las Vegas, formerly of Melrose, died at home on July 13, 2005 at the age of 61. Paul was raised in Melrose, went to St. Marys Grammar School, Malden Catholic and was a graduate of Melrose High School Class of 1961. He received his B.S. in Accounting from Bentley College in 1973 and after college, he became the Chief Accountant for the International Paper Co, Salada Foods and H. A. Johnson Co. for many years. During the 1980s, Paul was a General Manager & President of Lehman Brothers Corp. in NJ, a subsidiary of S.S. Pierce & H. W. Powers Co. in Boston. He owned the T-Bones Steak & Ale House in So. Dennis for 6 years and recently was the Assistant to the owner of the Golden Nugget Casino in Las Vegas. Paul was the loving son of the late John J. & Mary E. Higgins. Devoted brother of John J. Higgins, Joseph H. Higgins & his wife Robin, all of Melrose, Betsy Defeo & her husband Richard of Wakefield, Peter L. Higgins of ME, Philip D. Higgins & his wife Sandra of NH and Jeffrey L. Higgins & his wife Sheryl of Lynnfield. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Monday August 8th at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church Herbert St., Melrose at 9AM. Relatives & friends invited. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
