Paula F. (O'Brien) Govostes, formerly of Melrose, died surrounded by family on June 10, 2026 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Melrose on March 9, 1955 to the late Anne (O’Keefe) and Francis O’Brien. She was raised in Melrose and attended St. Mary’s School.

Paula was the beloved wife of the late Diamond G. Govostes. Loving mother of Christopher Govostes, Dennis Govostes, and the late Diamond Patrick Govostes. Mother-in-law of Laura Govostes and Christine McClafferty. Proud grandmother of Julia, Charles, and Kelly. Caring sister of John O’Brien & his wife Carol, Timothy O’Brien & his wife Sheri, James O’Brien & his wife Marge, Andrea Coleman & her husband Danny, and the late Mary O’Brien. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at St. Mary's Church, 4 Herbert St., Melrose. Burial to follow the mass at Wyoming Cemetery, 205 Sylvan St., Melrose. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend.
