Pearl E. (Wooldridge) Petrino passed away at her home in Melrose, surrounded by her family, on May 8, 2007. She was 73 years of age. Pearl was born in Somerville, raised in Burlington and attended Burlington Schools. She moved to Melrose over 50 years ago and worked as an operating room aide at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for 11 years, retiring in 1998. Mrs. Petrino was an avid quilter & knitter. She summered at her camp in Acton Maine for over 54 years, where she enjoyed feeding the birds and gardening. Pearl was the wife of 54 years to Donald J. Petrino. Mother of Donald C. & his wife Darlene of FL, Karen T. Welch & her husband Doug of Swampscott, William A. & his wife Susan of AZ, Wayne E. & his wife Chris of Bridgewater and Richard P. & his wife Pam of Peabody. Sister of Alice Bowman of Rockland, Rosella Spence of Melrose, Almon Wooldridge of ME, Shirely Durgan of Stoneham, Chesley Wooldridge of ME, Roberta Beyer of E. Hampton and the late Gladys Ray, Karen Neal & Richard Wooldridge. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, on Thursday, May 10th, at 9AM. Relatives & friends invited.
