Peter A. Tura died at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on July 6th at the age of 77. He was born and raised in Saugus, attended Saugus schools and has lived in Melrose the past 56 years. Peter served in the US Navy for four years during WWII. He worked as a truck driver for Lindstrom Brothers Moving Company of Melrose for 25 years and for McCabe Movers of Melrose for 15 years.. Peter was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed gardening. He was the husband of Katherine L. (Emperatrice) Tura. Father of Peter C. Tura & his wife Louise of Peabody. Brother of George Tura of Melrose, Lenny Tura of Danvers, Mildred Salsman of Saugus, Emma Penachio of Wakefield, Tillie Cahill of Melrose and the late Charles & Joseph Tura. Grandfather of Michele McGann of Fairhaven and Peter M. Tura of ME. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Thurs. July 10th at 8AM. Funeral mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose at 9AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Wed. 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose.
