Philip Michael DiBlasi died in Florida peacefully in his sleep on November 7, 2006, he was 42. Philip was born and raised in Melrose and attended Melrose Schools. He stared his career working in the family restaurant business and then owned and operated a restaurant in the Boston area for several years. After a devastating hurricane in Florida Mr. DiBlasi changed careers. He moved to Florida and worked construction rebuilding homes & business effected by the storm. He has been a resident of Florida for the past 20 years. Mr. DiBlasi was a devoted father; he loved fishing, boating, camping and the outdoors. Philip will be dearly missed. He was the loving son of Maurice DiBlasi of Wakefield, Kathleen (nee-Christle) Bender & his stepfather Richard of FL. Devoted father of David & Amanda of FL. Grandson of Margaret Christle Beloved brother of Jan Marie of FL. Also survived by several loving aunts, uncles, a nephew & cousins. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Tues. Nov. 28th, at 8:45AM. Funeral Mass in St. Josephs Church, 173 Albion St. Wakefield, at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Monday 4-8PM.
