Philip Andrew Glennon, of Melrose, passed away on November 14, 2015 at the age of 91. Phil was born in Lynn on January 16, 1924 to Philip and Catherine (Shine) Glennon. He was raised in Malden and graduated from Revere High School. Phil served honorably during WWII in the United States Navy. Upon returning from the war, Phil married the love of his life, Theresa (Burke) Glennon in 1947, the two spent 68 years happily married together. They raised their two children Philip and Patricia in Melrose. Phil worked as a salesman for different companies in the printing industry for many years, including Intertype Corp. in Quincy, Harris Corp. of Massachusetts, and Compugraphic in Wilmington. Phil and Theresa also owned Glen Hill Cleaners in Wakefield for ten years. Phil was a great family man, and was at his happiest when he was surrounded by close friends and family. He was a great storyteller and was always quick to make others laugh. Phil was dedicated to Incarnation Church and took his faith very seriously. In his leisure time, Phil enjoyed golfing and spending time with family at their cottages in West Hyannisport on Cape Cod and Gilmanton, NH. He was a great handyman and could get anything to work with a little tinkering. Phil loved his family more than anything; he will be greatly missed by them all. He was the beloved husband of Theresa E. (Burke) Glennon of Melrose. Loving father of Philip A. Glennon III & his wife Christine of Malden, and Patricia M. Glennon of Lynnfield. Proud grandfather of Catelyn, James, Robert, & Brenden. Loving great-grandfather of Caileigh, Vincent, & Julia. Caring brother of William Glennon & his wife Elaine of Peabody, Kathleen DeMauro & her husband Robert of Revere, John Glennon & his wife Eleanor of Malden, and the late Richard Glennon & his wife Anita of Melrose. Also survived by loving cousins, nieces, & nephews. Visitation will be held on Wed., Nov. 18, 2015 from 4-8 PM at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015 at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Incarnation Church, Melrose, at 9 AM.. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
